ABOUT US

Every piece of wood holds a unique story. We demonstrate these stories from our carefully selected wood and express them into our designs, exposing authentic shapes, textures and colors.

All of our collections reflect meaningful values of family life. The stories our wood carry can be expressed like the traits or characters that exist within a family. We believe that each family member has their own strengths and weaknesses. The same can be said for wood. People can connect with our wood as it is created into something useful, beautiful, special and valued.

Wood story is here to produce different collections, philosophies and high value investments.

THE COLLECTION

Color

Apart from design, another strength off Wood Story is the authentic colors exhibited. Boundless colors appear organically within the wood itself. We learn from wood’s and nature’s colors. Through fermentation and water (natural occurrences), we are determined these natural colors cannot be reached by anyone synthetically.

Happy

This collection started from organic color experiments. The outcomes were extraordinary that led us to immense happiness. We made three color symbols from one solid wood, into three different fiber characters.

Hope

Born due to economic conditions during the Covid-19 pandemic. The situation felt bleak and dark, however, we realized the darker a situation can get, the clearer it became to find the light at the end of the tunnel.

The design of pleated accents at the ends illustrates that no matter how difficult our conditions are, we still have the right to enlightenment and solutions. Even if there is only a 1% faith left, we still have the same hope to be able to turn things around for the better. Even to the point that our legs can no longer stand straight (the illustration of a tilted table legs from this collection reflects this).

Strong

The initial idea rose because of a piece of wood that was split and not functioning properly. This incident sparked the idea of webbing, of woven fibers. Webbing is a symbol that binds each other to give strength.

In a family, there must be someone who can unite members to provide strength to one another, even when they are separated.

Imaginative

This collection is different from carvings in general. As the name implies imaginative, this collection was born from the erosion of wood itself and we designed it so that it produces special, aesthetic works but still naturally beautiful. Imaginative is a gift from God.

AGE

This collection is inspired by age-old wood, representing everything has its own time and history. This design illustrates that our mission is to make imperfection perfect. The gloomy becomes brilliant, the ordinary becomes extraordinary.

Unique

This collection responds to a family story that not one of us is ever the same, and each family member has its own uniqueness. So do the wood we use to produce. They are never the same. Life becomes more special and full of surprises!

Traditional

A design becomes more valuable when it has to go through various long and complex manual processes, before ending with technological finishes.

Their Story

Drs. H. Helmy Yahya, born in March 1963. Indonesian actor, MC and politician, younger brother of the famous figure Tantowi Yahya. Helmy is also known as the ‘King of Quiz Indonesia’ because of his work in creating and producing many TV quiz programs.
Helmi Yahya was awarded more than 20 awards as master of ceremonies and producer.
